Shock Horror Size 16 Does not Win Miss England
Chloe Marshall did not manage to convince the pannel that a curvy girl should win Miss England, instead crowned was a 22 year old dress size 9?! from Derby.
I dont know what is required for you to do in order to win Miss England but I am guessing that you need to be somewhere along the lines as the models on BNTM and ANTM (Britain and Americas top model).
I am not saying that this girl did not deserve to win Miss England, just would have been a nice refreshing change to have someone different to the previous contestants, Miss Surrey was that and she did not give a damn what others thought, good for her to be comfortable in her own skin and flaunting what she has. She feels sexy the way she is and she claims that she will never change to fit in with the size 0 wars. I have heard this time and time again but I will not pretend I believe all that to be fully true, alot of people say they would never become size 0 and that they do not agree with it but 6 months later or sooner they are on the front cover of the local rag looking thinner than ever.
I hope Miss Surrey stays as she is and continues to be happy with what she has and what she has been given.

well, i haven’t seen the contestants of course but to me a size 9 sounds downright hopeful. converting the sizes is hard with all the vanity sizes, but i assume it would either be a 5 or a 7, here. i’m pretty sure that is thin/healthy/normal rather than being a particularly small size. depending, of course, on the height of the individual.
ANTM size i would guess skews even a bit smaller than that. although it’s hard for me at 5′2″ to really judge sizes when it comes to people who are much taller, so maybe the ANTM-type contestants aren’t taking quite as small in dress sizes as i imagine.
Vanessa – And therein lies the rub. Bearing in mind that we don’t all share the same bone structure or height, a size 9 can range from “sturdy” to very slim. And weights are completely meaningless, too. You might be very short and healthy at 100 pounds, or you might be very tall and EMACIATED at 100 pounds.
These numbers are meaningless.
